F.A.Q.'S

How do the journals work?
This is a very complicated question, but one that needs to be answered nonetheless. The journals have been around longer than Voldemort has been in control of the wizarding world. Fred and George Weasley, along with some complicated magic first introduced them right before Voldemort's takeover and the destruction of WWW. Afterwards, the twins went into hiding, but thankfully, other manufacturers around the world (wizaring manufacturers, that is) have created similar products since then. Fred and George can still make them for people if they want, but it will obviously only be for those they come in contact with. Slaves and those in Azkaban have journals, but they are only issued by the Death Eaters for monitoring purposes; this is the only modicum of freedom they have, but do remember that they can easily be watched Big Brother Style.

But how are they charmed so certain individuals don't see them?
If your character has a real wand, then they can simply charm their entries to include only those whom they wish to read them. As for those imprisoned or in servitude, they are unable to hex their entries private when they are written and cannot speak to anyone in a private conversation unless the person they are speaking to has a capable wand and wards both sides of the conversation private.

So slaves and those imprisoned don't have a wand?
Nope, upon being captured and placed in Azkaban, their wands were snapped and burned.

How are those imprisoned assigned to slaves?
Ultimately, the decision as to who goes to whom is left up to the mods. There will be times when there are slaves who don't have a "master" yet, but it can still be feasibly done if the player is responsible enough not to NPC the Death Eater too much. Requests can be made by the players who play Death Eaters, but the mods will have the final say as to where each person goes. So, in the meantime, until the character is enslaved to a Death Eater, they are to remain in Azkaban.

If my character is hiding inside a house in London, is that a good hiding place?
Not really, so you should be prepared to have them captured very, very soon. Remember, Voldemort is in control of the Ministry and the whole wizarding world in Britain. Putting a few charms around a house in London and hoping that your character doesn't get caught while being there isn't the best plan. They need to hide if you want them hidden, and hidden well. Place them in another country, in the middle of the woods, but be consciously aware that where they are will play a huge part on how long they can stay hidden.

Is it possible that relationships could have formed while in Prison or slightly beforehand?
Sure, anything's possible, but remember to ask yourself if it is canon or realistic? Up until Bill and Fleur's wedding, we pretty much know who is involved with whom and who is married. Relationships could have happened, but between the time of Bill and Fleur's marriage and now, it's unlikely that more than a handful of marriages would have happened. None would have happened amongst those who have been captured and have been in prison, so please remember to consider this when applying and plotting.

Is the Minister of Magic really Voldemort?
Even though he's the Great and Powerful Voldemort, he can't run an entire country, anhilate muggles and muggleborns, fight off those against him, and try to gain control outside of Britain, so he has to have someone sitting in the big chair for him while he's doing all the other important business. Therefore, the Minister of Magic, as chosen by Voldemort himself, is Tarquin Avery Sr (first name can be changed upon casting).

What about the Horcruxes? Have any been destroyed since the ring?
Only one has been destroyed since then. After the attack at Bill and Fleur's wedding, the Trio went in hiding at Grimmauld place for a few months. During that time and before Voldemort fully took over, the Trio got word about Hufflepuff's cup several weeks later and were were able to sneak into Gringotts (7th book style), find the Cup and destroy it via the same way in book seven. However, since then, they haven't been able to locate or even attempt to destroy another one.

What happens if my character accidentally writes or says "Voldermort?"
Remember, the name is taboo. Whether your character says "Voldemort" intentionally or unintentionally, there will be consequences. If they say it orally, any wards around them will drop instantly, and snatchers will be there in a matter of seconds. They will arrest the person (if they're neutral or Order), interrogate them, and they will likely wind up in prison. If it's a Death Eater who says it, they can be assured that they will answer to Senior Death Eaters and Voldemort himself. If it is written in a journal entry, all privacy charms will drop, and the conversation will be viewable to anyone with a journal. Furthermore, snatchers will arrive there within a few seconds, the person will be arrested, interrogated, and may wind up in prison. There is no contesting this. If a mod sees it, they will reply with the mod journal, letting the character know that they said "Voldemort" and whether it was intentional or not, the character will face the consequences. When we see it and reply to it, there's no way to change it or get around it.
